Another little bit of naturist disagreement.

There are many naturists who believe that clothes should be worn only when necessary, for comfort, protection or avoiding getting arrested. The more traditional naturist clubs however have rules, or at least conventions, on when clothes should be worn. Often this includes evenings, for example an unwritten (or maybe even a written) rule to be dressed after 20:00, and especially at functions. Until a few years ago, British Naturism magazine was full of reports of fancy-dress parties at naturist clubs; maybe with costumes slightly more revealing than would be accepted elsewhere, but basically clothed.

There doesn't seem to be any reason for this. Some clubs manage with a policy which accepts individual choice. The big national events organised by BN are completely different, most allow or even encourage 24-hour nudity for their duration. So they should: not many would pay those fees for a few days of being asked to wear clothes most of the time.

An even more obvious difference is dancing. Even clubs that tolerate nakedness in the evening have their doubts about dancing in the nude. Naturism may be nudity without sex, but it seems some cannot conceive of dancing without sex, so naked dancing must connect nudity with sex. But the example of Nudefest, Alton Towers and the rest show that it doesn't, or needn't.
